Infrared Aquarium Temperature Gun

The Infrared Aquarium Temperature Gun allows the keeper to measure surface water temperature through the aquarium glass without submerging any probe, making it the fastest way to check temperatures across multiple tanks in a fish room. Simply point the gun at the water surface or at a clear glass panel, pull the trigger, and the LCD screen shows the reading within a second.

Note that infrared guns measure surface temperature and will read slightly lower than actual water column temperature due to glass insulation and surface evaporative cooling — a calibration offset is needed for accuracy. Nonetheless, the device is excellent for detecting relative differences between tanks, identifying a cold tank quickly, and performing rapid water change bucket checks.
