Iron Root Tabs 20-Pack

Iron root tabs provide DTPA-chelated iron at the substrate level, addressing the most common cause of chlorosis in rooted aquatic plants. While water-column iron dosing supplies leaves and shoots, heavily rooted plants absorb a significant proportion of their iron requirements through the roots, and this pathway is often neglected in standard liquid fertiliser programmes.

Each tab releases chelated iron slowly over approximately three months as the compressed tablet dissolves. The chelation keeps iron in a plant-available form even in alkaline or carbonate-rich substrates where unchelated iron would precipitate rapidly.

Plants that respond most noticeably to iron root tabs include large Amazon swords with yellowing older leaves, crypts showing pale new growth, and vallisneria displaying white tips. They work synergistically with water-column iron dosing for the most demanding aquatic plants.
