Lagarosiphon muscoides

Lagarosiphon muscoides is native to the highland lakes and streams of southern Africa, where it grows in cool, clear, moderately hard water. It is the most compact of the commonly available Lagarosiphon species, producing short, densely recurved leaves along its stems in a pattern so tight that it resembles a moss or ericaceous shrub at close inspection — hence the epithet 'muscoides' (moss-like). It prefers cooler water than tropical plants and performs best in temperate aquariums and coldwater setups. Growth is moderate under medium light without CO2, making it a low-maintenance oxygenating plant with considerably more visual texture than the common African Elodea.
