Lagenandra meeboldii "Pink"

Lagenandra meeboldii is endemic to the river margins of Sri Lanka, where it grows submerged and emergent in clean, flowing water. The 'Pink' form is particularly sought after for the warm rose-to-pink coloration of its leaf undersides, which becomes most vivid in emergent or paludarium conditions. It grows on a thick rhizome and is closely related to Cryptocoryne, sharing its slow, steady rhizomatous growth and preference for nutrient-rich substrate. Given adequate humidity and indirect light it thrives in the emersed zone of a paludarium and produces elegant spathe inflorescences.
