Lepidura Moenkhausia

Moenkhausia lepidura is a streamlined, torpedo-shaped tetra widely distributed across the Amazon and Orinoco drainages. Its silver body bears faint scale outlining and a small caudal blotch at the base of the tail. An active, high-energy schooling species, it occupies the mid-water column and drives other timid fish into the open through its confident, constant movement. It is among the most adaptable Moenkhausia species, tolerating a broad range of water parameters without significant loss of vitality. Excellent for large community and biotope aquariums where active schooling fish are desired. A sturdy, undemanding species suitable for beginners.
