Limnophila indica

Limnophila indica is a widely distributed tropical species found across South and Southeast Asia, Australia and parts of Africa. In the aquarium it produces attractive whorls of finely pinnate, feathery leaves on moderately fast-growing stems that adapt well to the broad range of water conditions found in community planted tanks. It is less demanding than related species such as L. aromatica or L. hippuridoides, performing reasonably well without CO2 injection under medium lighting. The delicate, feathery texture provides an attractive contrast to broad-leaved foreground plants and is a useful species for aquarists building naturalistic biotope-inspired setups in the tropics.
