Limnophila sp. 'Vietnam'

Limnophila sp. 'Vietnam' is an informally named collection form of Limnophila gathered from Vietnamese waterways, notable for its exceptionally finely dissected, feathery leaves arranged in dense whorls and a delicate pinkish-purple stem colouration. The overall appearance is reminiscent of a fine-leaved Myriophyllum but with the whorled architecture typical of Limnophila.

It is more demanding than L. aromatica, requiring high light, CO2 injection, and soft, slightly acidic water for stable, compact growth. Without sufficient light the leaf whorls become sparse and the plant loses its characteristic feathery density. It is sensitive to nutrient deficiencies, particularly iron.

A specialty plant best suited to experienced planted tank hobbyists, where it rewards careful cultivation with extraordinary feathery texture and subtle colouration not found in mainstream Limnophila species.
