Live White Worm Culture Starter

White worms (Enchytraeus albidus) are larger relatives of grindal worms, reaching 2–3 cm in length. Their exceptionally high fat content makes them one of the most effective conditioning foods available — regular feeding for one to two weeks reliably triggers spawning in most temperate and tropical fish species. Because of their richness, they must be used sparingly and only for short conditioning periods; extended use can cause fatty liver disease and reproductive organ damage in fish. They prefer cooler temperatures (12–18 °C) which makes them easiest to culture in winter months.
