Longfin Black Skirt Tetra

The Longfin Black Skirt Tetra is a selectively bred variety of Gymnocorymbus ternetzi in which the dorsal, anal, and caudal fins have been dramatically extended into flowing, veil-like formations. The original species originates from the Paraguay and Paraná basins, and the longfin variety retains all of its hardiness and adaptability. The sweeping black-and-silver fins create a striking display in community aquariums, especially under bright lighting over a contrasting substrate. Peaceful and undemanding, this variety is suitable for beginners. It is important not to house it with known fin-nippers, as the elaborate fins are tempting targets.
