Loretoensis Tetra

Hyphessobrycon loretoensis hails from the Loreto region of Peru along the Amazon tributaries. This compact, attractively proportioned species has a silvery-pink body adorned with a thin horizontal stripe and a distinctive dark blotch above the ventral region. It is a peaceful, undemanding schooling fish that thrives in soft to moderately soft Amazonian community aquariums with warm temperatures and plant cover. Its small size and peaceful temperament make it compatible with most other small to medium-sized community fish. In a well-maintained aquarium with good nutrition and soft water, it displays a subtle but charming pink flush that becomes more pronounced in mature specimens.
