Mangrove Root

Mangrove Root driftwood is sourced from the prop root systems of mangrove trees, which grow in coastal intertidal zones where their roots extend into water and mud. The resulting wood has an intricate, interlocked branching structure that recreates the characteristic tangle of a mangrove understorey with remarkable authenticity, making it the definitive choice for mangrove biotope and brackish aquarium setups.

In freshwater aquariums, Mangrove Root provides dramatic focal hardscape with a unique character distinct from conventional river driftwoods. Its dark brown to near-charcoal colouration and dense branching network create strong visual depth and shelter opportunities for small fish and invertebrates. Java Fern and Java Moss attach readily to the branched surfaces.
