Dario margaretae is one of the most sought-after members of the Dario genus among advanced micro-fish enthusiasts, known from only a small number of collection localities along streams near the northeast India–Myanmar border. Males are breathtaking at close inspection: deep crimson-red body with six to eight dark vertical bars, dense iridescent blue-green scale highlights creating an almost gemstone-like appearance under angled lighting.

This species is considered advanced not because of difficult water parameter requirements, but because of its absolute dependence on live food and its vulnerability in competitive feeding situations. It should be maintained only in dedicated nano setups with other micro fish or adult shrimp, with feeding performed carefully to ensure every individual receives adequate nutrition.

Breeding records from private keepers confirm paternal cave-spawning behaviour consistent with other Dario species. The rarity of this species in the hobby makes captive breeding a priority, and keepers are strongly encouraged to establish and share breeding successes to support long-term availability.

Orders are processed within 1-2 business days. Standard shipping typically takes 3-5 business days.

Free shipping on orders over the store's free shipping threshold. Pickup may also be available depending on the store's settings.

Images show typical examples for illustrative purposes only; actual appearance varies by age, batch, and condition.

Items are considered accepted once delivery is completed, and normal variation cannot be used as a basis for concern or a service request.
