Minor Tetra

Hyphessobrycon minor is a small, translucent tetra native to rivers of Suriname. Its delicate frame is tinged a soft pink-red with a clearly defined black shoulder spot and lightly pigmented fins. Though often overshadowed by flashier relatives, this species is exceptionally easy to maintain and breed, making it a useful introduction to characin keeping for beginners. In adequate groups of ten or more it forms a cohesive, shimmering school that adds lively movement to small planted aquariums. It accepts a wide range of prepared foods and is tolerant of moderate water parameter variation. An excellent choice for nano and biotope aquariums.
