The Nasutus Featherfin is a mid-sized Tanganyikan cichlid adapted for feeding on plankton in the upper water column, with a characteristically upturned snout that distinguishes it from other featherfins. Breeding males display elongated pelvic fin filaments tipped with yellow spots mimicking eggs, which are used to attract females. It is a maternal mouthbrooder.
