Nitrate Reducing Media 500g

Nitrate reduction in aquariums typically requires either large water changes or specialist anaerobic filtration media. This porous polymer nitrate reduction medium creates oxygen-depleted micro-zones deep within its internal pore structure, enabling obligate anaerobic denitrifying bacteria to convert nitrate into harmless nitrogen gas. Because the process is biological rather than chemical, the media becomes more effective as the bacterial community establishes over 4–6 weeks. A 500g bag provides sufficient capacity for tanks of 150–200 litres. The media should be positioned in a low-flow section of the filter or in a dedicated slow-flow reactor to allow adequate contact time for anaerobic activity to occur. Compatible with both freshwater and marine filtration systems.
