Colossoma macropomum relatives used as ornamental Pacu are members of the Serrasalmidae family and are among the largest characins kept in aquariums. Their deep, disc-like silver body with dark markings makes them visually impressive, but they can grow very large and require enormous aquariums or pond systems to thrive long-term.
