The Siphon Start Gravel Vacuum features a hand-pump primer bulb that establishes siphon flow with a few simple squeezes, removing the need to mouth-start the siphon — a method many hobbyists find unpleasant and unhygienic. The 35cm acrylic tube is suited to aquariums up to approximately 50cm depth, and the wide-diameter opening efficiently agitates and lifts debris from gravel substrates. A flow-control clip on the outlet hose allows the siphon rate to be regulated to suit fine sand substrates or when filling a bucket precisely to a target volume. Compatible with standard 25mm diameter hose. Suitable for freshwater aquariums; regular use keeps detritus from accumulating in the substrate and prevents anaerobic zones.
