Zeolite Ammonia Remover 500g

Zeolite is a naturally occurring aluminosilicate mineral that removes ammonia from freshwater by a physical ion-exchange process, binding ammonium ions within its crystalline lattice structure. This makes it uniquely valuable in freshwater aquariums during the critical early cycling phase, ammonia emergency spikes, and hospital or quarantine setups where a mature biological filter is absent or compromised. A 500g bag provides sufficient capacity for a standard filter run for up to four weeks before the zeolite becomes saturated. Unlike biological filtration, zeolite acts within hours of installation, buying time for the nitrogen cycle to establish. It cannot be used in marine or brackish water as salt ions interfere with the exchange process. Spent zeolite can be recharged by soaking in a salt solution.
