Zosterella dubia

Zosterella dubia (formerly Heteranthera dubia) grows in the freshwater lakes, rivers, and ponds of North America, producing narrow, alternately arranged leaves on branching stems from a creeping rhizome. It is adapted to clear, moderately hard water and is fully aquatic, thriving submerged in both tropical and temperate conditions. Delicate yellow flowers appear at the water surface in summer under good light. It is a solid, underrated background plant that fills the midground-to-background zone with a natural, uncluttered green texture.
