Acantopsis choirorhynchos

Acantopsis choirorhynchos, the Horseface Loach, has a unique elongated, down-turned snout perfect for sifting sand for invertebrates. Buries itself completely in fine sand — invisible except for eyes. Peaceful and unusual biotope fish.
Fine sand substrate 5+ cm deep — buries completely. Temperature 24–28°C, pH 6.5–7.5. Feeds on sinking pellets and small invertebrates from sand. Keep singly or in pairs. Peaceful with all fish.
