Acropora millepora
Origin: Indo-Pacific (shallow reef flats)
The pink form of Acropora millepora displays a warm coral-pink to salmon colouration that glows under reef lighting, making it one of the most visually rewarding SPS corals. It shares the same compact branching form and vigorous growth rate as the green variety, making it an excellent choice for hobbyists building an SPS reef. Pink millepora colonies add strong colour contrast when positioned among green and blue neighbours.
Same requirements as green millepora: PAR 200–400+, strong flow, pristine NSW parameters. Alk 8–10 dKH, Ca 400–450 ppm, Mg 1250–1350 ppm, temp 24–27°C, SG 1.025. Dose two-part or calcium reactor. Maintain low nutrient levels (NO3 <5 ppm, PO4 <0.05 ppm) for best colouration. Fragging: snap branches with bone cutters and mount on frag plugs with superglue or epoxy.
