Acropora nasuta
Origin: Indo-Pacific
Acropora nasuta in its purple form is one of the most sought-after Acropora species, displaying a vivid purple branch base with contrasting green or lime polyps that create a spectacular two-tone appearance. A. nasuta forms upright, open branching colonies and is among the faster-growing species in the genus. It is a moderately demanding species that rewards consistent parameters with outstanding colouration.
PAR 250–400. Strong chaotic flow to replicate shallow reef turbulence. Alk stability critical — maintain 8–9 dKH without fluctuation. Ca 420–450 ppm, Mg 1280–1350 ppm. Keep NO3 2–5 ppm and PO4 0.02–0.05 ppm. Temperature 24–26°C, SG 1.025–1.026. Weekly amino acid dosing enhances polyp extension and colour. Susceptible to AEFW — preventive dipping protocol on all new additions.
