Satanoperca acuticeps
Also known as: Acuticeps Eartheater, Sharptail Eartheater
Origin: South America
Satanoperca acuticeps is named for its noticeably pointed snout, perfectly adapted for sifting fine substrate. It displays a softer colouration than some Satanoperca but rewards observers with an active and inquisitive personality. Peaceful and group-oriented, it thrives in a biotope setup.
Water: 26-30°C, pH 5.5-7.0, soft water preferred. Tank: Minimum 300L, deep fine sand substrate, some driftwood and leaf litter. Feeding: Micro sinking pellets, frozen bloodworm, live tubifex, quality cichlid granules. Behaviour: Peaceful eartheater; works well in groups with little aggression. Compatibility: Excellent with large tetras, peaceful cichlids, and loricariid catfish.
