Corydoras adolfoi originates from the upper Rio Negro in Brazil and is prized for its distinctive orange patch between the eyes and dorsal fin. It thrives in soft, slightly acidic blackwater conditions that mimic its native habitat. A peaceful schooling species that does best in groups of six or more on a fine sand substrate.
Water: 22–26°C, pH 6.0–7.2, soft to medium hardness; prefers slightly acidic blackwater conditions. Tank: 60L+, fine sand substrate essential, dim lighting, leaf litter or driftwood welcome. Feeding: Sinking wafers, small frozen bloodworm, daphnia, and quality micro-pellets. Behaviour: Peaceful schooling bottom dweller; keep in groups of 6+ for best activity. Compatibility: Ideal for South American blackwater communities; avoid hard-water or aggressive species.
