Bathyaethiops caudomaculatus
Origin: Congo River Basin, DRC
Bathyaethiops caudomaculatus, the Moon Tetra, is a rarely seen but beautiful African tetra from the Congo Basin. It features a striking large spot at the caudal peduncle and iridescent silver-blue body. A lively schooling fish that does well in species tanks or with peaceful African companions. Pack of 8.
Keep in schools of 8+ in at least 100 L. Provide dim lighting, dark substrate, and some floating plants to simulate its natural blackwater habitat. Sensitive to poor water quality — keep nitrates low. Feed fine flake, micro pellets, and small frozen foods. Soft, slightly acidic water preferred.
