Arnoldichthys spilopterus, the African Red-Eye Tetra, is a robust schooling fish from West Africa. It features a striking red upper eye, golden-bronze body, and scaled lateral line markings. Grows to about 9 cm and is more boisterous than most tetras — best suited to larger community tanks. Pack of 8.
Keep in groups of 8+ in tanks of at least 150 L. Active swimmer needing open swimming space. Feeds readily on flake, pellets, and frozen foods. May nip long-finned fish; best with robust tankmates. Prefers well-oxygenated water and moderate flow.
