Corydoras agassizii
Also known as: Agassiz's Cory, Agassiz Catfish
Origin: South America
Corydoras agassizii is a robust species reaching up to 7 cm, exhibiting dense spotting over a pale body and a notably high dorsal fin. It originates from slow-moving tributaries of the upper Amazon in Peru and Brazil. Its size makes it better suited to medium or larger aquariums where it can school actively with congeners.
Water: 22–26°C, pH 6.0–7.2, soft to medium water. Tank: 80L+, fine sand substrate, subdued lighting, driftwood and leaf litter appreciated. Feeding: Sinking wafers, frozen bloodworm, brine shrimp, quality pellets. Behaviour: Peaceful, active bottom dweller; keep in groups of 6+ with similarly sized cories. Compatibility: Good community fish; best with medium-sized peaceful species.
