The Albino Bristlenose Pleco is a selectively bred colour morph of Ancistrus cirrhosus, displaying a cream to pale orange-white body with characteristic pink or red eyes. It retains all the hardiness, cave-breeding capability, and algae-grazing ability of the standard form, making it equally popular among beginners and experienced fishkeepers.
Water: 23–28°C, pH 6.0–7.5, adaptable to a range of hardness levels. Tank: Driftwood and caves; minimum 80L; can be kept with plants. Feeding: Herbivore; algae wafers, blanched greens, cucumber, zucchini, driftwood. Behaviour: Nocturnal; peaceful; males develop prominent bristles and guard egg clutches in caves. Compatibility: Excellent community pleco; compatible with nearly all peaceful freshwater species.
