About
Apistogramma agassizii 'Fire Red' has a distinctive spade-shaped tail — unique among Apistogramma — and intense red-orange colouration throughout. Males are significantly larger than females and display vivid colours during courtship. This species tolerates slightly harder water than some Apistogramma, making it accessible to a wider range of setups. Prefers well-planted tanks with leaf litter and caves for territory delineation.
