About

Apistogramma cacatuoides 'Double Red' is a captive-bred morph of the cockatoo dwarf cichlid with dramatically extended first dorsal spines and intense red-orange colouration across the fins and body. Males erect their striking dorsal display during courtship. This is one of the most popular dwarf cichlid species, suitable for soft, warm, well-planted aquaria. Females turn vivid yellow while guarding eggs.
