Atyopsis moluccensis
Origin: Southeast Asia
Atyopsis moluccensis, the Bamboo Shrimp or Wood Shrimp, uses fan-like front appendages to filter fine particles from flowing water — a unique and fascinating feeding behaviour. Places itself in current to passively feed. Peaceful, large and unusual.
Strong water current for feeding position. Temperature 22–28°C, pH 6.5–7.5. Feed DT's phytoplankton and Bacter AE into current. Cannot compete with other shrimp for solid foods. Peaceful with all tank mates.
