About

Aulonocara jacobfreibergi 'Eureka Red' is a popular captive-bred colour form with intense red-orange body colouration in males, contrasted by vivid blue fins. It is one of the most commonly seen peacock cichlids in the hobby due to its striking, reliable colour expression. The Eureka Red is the result of selective breeding from wild A. jacobfreibergi (Otter Point) and readily available as tankbred fish from European breeders.

pH 7.8–8.5. Sand substrate. Harem (1M + 3–5F). Mixed peacock/hap tank. Feed: high-quality cichlid pellets.
