About
Aulonocara stuartgranti 'Chiloelo' — the Chiloelo peacock — is a stunning peacock cichlid with vivid blue head colouration and rich orange-yellow body. Male colouration intensifies with age and optimal conditions. Aulonocara peacocks use a sand-sifting technique to detect invertebrates buried in substrate — this feeding behaviour is unique and fascinating to observe. They are among the more peaceful Malawi haplochromines and suitable for mixed peacock/hap tanks.
