Amblyeleotris aurora
Origin: Indo-Pacific
The Aurora Shrimpgoby is a subtly beautiful species with a pale pinkish body marked by faint orange bands and delicate blue fin highlights. It shares a burrow with pistol shrimp in a classic mutualistic relationship, standing guard while its partner maintains their home. A peaceful fish well-suited to calm reef communities.
Provide a sandy substrate for burrowing at least 5 cm deep. Pair with an Alpheus pistol shrimp for natural symbiotic behaviour. Feed small meaty foods: frozen mysis, copepods, finely chopped seafood. Ensure a tight-fitting lid — gobioides are escape artists. Peaceful; avoid aggressive tankmates.
