Amphiprion rubrocinctus
Origin: Northwestern Australia, Kimberley Coast
Amphiprion rubrocinctus, the Australian Clownfish, is a robust species restricted to northwestern Australian waters around the Kimberley region. It is predominantly dark with reddish-orange flanks and a single white head bar, giving it a bold rugged look. It adapts well to aquarium life and suits larger reef systems.
Provide a suitable host anemone (Entacmaea quadricolor preferred) for natural behaviour. Feed a varied omnivore diet: marine pellets, mysis, enriched brine shrimp, spirulina-supplemented foods. Semi-aggressive toward conspecifics — keep as a mated pair. Captive-bred specimens are recommended.
