About
The Axilspot Hogfish features a bold two-toned pattern with a dark brown-to-black anterior and white posterior half, dotted with white spots. Juveniles act as cleaner fish on the reef. A relatively peaceful hogfish that makes an excellent addition to FOWLR or aggressive reef aquariums.
Care Guide
Provide ample live rock with caves for shelter. Feed meaty marine foods: mysis, krill, chopped squid, marine pellets. Juveniles are peaceful cleaners; adults may become semi-aggressive. Not reef-safe with small ornamental invertebrates. Requires good swimming space. Acclimates readily to captive feeding.
