Chrysiptera hemicyanea
Origin: Indo-Pacific
Chrysiptera hemicyanea — the azure damselfish — has a vivid two-tone colouration: electric blue above and bright yellow below. Like most damsels it is very hardy and accepts a wide range of conditions, but it becomes territorial with age, particularly in smaller tanks. Best kept as a single specimen in mixed reef communities, or in larger tanks as a trio with adequate territory. A reliable, low-maintenance species for beginner marine setups.
Light: any. Flow: moderate. Feed: omnivore diet. Single specimen in small tanks. Hardy — tolerates imperfect water. Reef-safe but territorial.
