About

The Bamboo Shrimp is a large peaceful filter-feeding shrimp from Southeast Asia that uses feathery fan-like appendages to collect food particles from the water current. It requires moderate to strong water flow and fine suspended particles or specialised powdered foods for feeding. Its earthy brown and tan colouration and active filter-feeding behaviour make it a fascinating centrepiece invertebrate.

Care Guide

Provide moderate to strong flow (powerhead or spray bar). Add finely powdered shrimp food or liquid food directly into the current in front of the shrimp. House with peaceful tankmates only — Bamboo Shrimp are completely defenceless. Sensitive to poor water quality and copper medications. Cannot compete with faster eaters at feeding time.
