Nannacara anomala
Also known as: Banded Acara, Golden Dwarf Cichlid
Origin: South America
Nannacara anomala is a compact and hardy dwarf-to-medium cichlid from the rivers of Guyana and Suriname. Males display bright metallic green colouration while females turn into striking black-and-white spawning dress. Easy to breed and peaceful enough for larger community aquariums.
Water: 24-28°C, pH 6.0-7.5, soft to slightly hard water. Tank: Minimum 100L, planted with hiding spots such as caves and Java fern. Feeding: Small pellets, frozen bloodworm, daphnia, micro granules. Behaviour: Peaceful males; females become territorial when guarding fry. Compatibility: Good community fish with tetras and corydoras; avoid very large cichlids.
