Cepaea nemoralis
Origin: Europe
Cepaea nemoralis is a colourful land snail with striking banded shells in brown, pink, or yellow that vary between individuals. While not a traditional aquatic invertebrate, it is increasingly popular in paludarium and riparian enclosure setups for its visual appeal and ease of care in high-humidity terrestrial zones.
Keep in the terrestrial zone of a paludarium or vivarium with high humidity (70%+). Provide leaf litter, mosses, and calciferous substrate for shell maintenance. Feed fresh vegetables, leafy greens, and cuttlebone. Do not submerge fully — it is a land snail that breathes air. Keep lid secure to prevent escapes.
