Pomacentrus bankanensis
Origin: Indo-West Pacific, Andaman Sea to Solomon Islands
Pomacentrus bankanensis is a small colourful damselfish from the Indo-West Pacific displaying a pale bluish-white body with a distinctive yellow saddle on the upper caudal peduncle and blue speckles over the head. A hardy and active species that enlivens reef aquariums with constant movement among rock and coral structures.
Provide ample live rock for shelter and territory. Semi-aggressive toward smaller or similarly sized fish — introduce last to prevent bullying. Feed a varied omnivore diet: marine flake, mysis, spirulina. Hardy and disease-resistant; good choice for cycling a new reef. Can be kept in small groups if tank is large enough.
