About

The Barber Goby is a Brazilian endemic cleaner goby adorned with bold yellow and black longitudinal stripes. It forms symbiotic cleaning relationships with larger reef fish, consuming parasites and detritus from their skin and gills. This species adapts well to captivity and breeds readily in the home aquarium.

Care Guide

Keep in mated pairs or small groups. Provide rocky substrate with small crevices for shelter. Feed mysis shrimp, copepods, and finely chopped marine foods. Will actively clean other fish — compatible with most peaceful reef fish. Secure lid required — small gobies are escape artists. Hardy and reef-safe.
