About
Baryancistrus xanthellus, the Gold Nugget Pleco (L018), is one of the most beautiful plecos — jet black with brilliant gold spots and vivid yellow-edged fins. An iconic species from the Xingu River. More available than L046 but still prized.
Care Guide
Warm water (28–30°C), high oxygenation. pH 6.0–7.5. Sandy substrate with driftwood. Feed Repashy Soilent Green, algae wafers, sinking pellets. Less carnivorous than Zebra Pleco. Driftwood important for digestive bacteria.
