Genicanthus bellus
Origin: Indo-Pacific, Japan
The Bellus Angelfish is a stunning deep-water species with striking sexual dimorphism — males have a white body with orange horizontal stripes and forked blue tail, while females show pastel blue-white with dark dorsal banding. A true planktivore, it is reef-safe and ideal for large reef aquariums with stable, slightly cooler water.
Keep water at 21–25 °C — a chiller may be needed in warmer climates. Feed multiple times daily with mysis, copepods, and enriched brine shrimp. Reef-safe; will not harm corals or most invertebrates. Provide ample open swimming space. One of the few large angelfish safe with corals. Introduce before other angels.
