Aspidoras albater is a small armoured catfish from central Brazil with an unusually dark, near-black colouration that sets it apart from most other Aspidoras species. It inhabits soft-water streams and creeks and is well-suited to smaller aquariums. Its distinctive colouration and active behaviour make it an interesting choice for planted tank enthusiasts.

Feeding: Small sinking wafers, micro pellets, frozen daphnia, cyclops, and bloodworm. Behaviour: Peaceful schooling bottom dweller; keep in groups of 6+.
