Chromis atripectoralis
Origin: Indo-Pacific, East Africa to Tuamoto Islands
Chromis atripectoralis closely resembles C. viridis but is distinguished by a distinctive black spot at the base of the pectoral fin. Found throughout the Indo-Pacific over shallow reef flats, it is a peaceful schooling species that adapts rapidly to aquarium life and complements most reef communities beautifully.
Keep in groups of 5+ for natural schooling behaviour. Feed a varied omnivore diet: marine flake, mysis, enriched brine shrimp, spirulina. Peaceful with almost all reef fish. Excellent dither fish to bring out shy reef inhabitants. Hardy and disease-resistant. One of the safest chromis species for reef aquariums.
