Chromis nigrura
Origin: Indo-Pacific, Maldives to Western Pacific
Chromis nigrura features a pale body with a distinctive dark bar at the base of the caudal fin that gives it an immediately recognisable silhouette. Found in the Indo-Pacific from the Maldives to the Western Pacific, it is a social species best kept in small groups, providing active presence in the upper water column.
Keep in groups of 5+. Feed marine flake, mysis, enriched brine shrimp twice daily. Peaceful and easy to care for. Slightly more sensitive to water quality than common chromis species — maintain pristine conditions. Well-suited to mixed community reef tanks. Schooling behaviour is most pronounced in groups of 7+.
