Tylomelania sp.
Origin: Sulawesi, Indonesia
The Black Rabbit Snail is a striking dark-shelled Sulawesi snail with a deep brown-to-black body and elongated spiral shell. Live-bearing and slow to reproduce, population management is easy. A popular display invertebrate for Sulawesi biotope tanks and planted aquariums.
Requires warm water (26–30 °C) as a Sulawesi species — standard tropical tanks may be too cool. Prefers hard, alkaline water (pH 7.5–8.5). Supplement calcium via cuttlebone or calcium-rich foods. Feed algae wafers, blanched vegetables, and leaf litter. Peaceful with all fish and invertebrates. Reproduces slowly — no overpopulation risk.
