Stonogobiops nematodes
Origin: Indo-Pacific
Stonogobiops nematodes, the Black-Rayed Shrimp Goby, is a small, striking goby with a white body accentuated by bold black horizontal stripes and elongated black dorsal fin filaments. Like all shrimp gobies it forms a symbiotic partnership with pistol shrimp — the shrimp excavates and maintains a burrow while the goby provides lookout duty. One of the more visually spectacular shrimp gobies available, it pairs readily with Alpheus pistol shrimp (sold separately).
Fine sand substrate (5+ cm). Best paired with a compatible pistol shrimp (e.g. Alpheus randalli or A. bellulus). Standard reef parameters. Feed frozen mysis, brine shrimp. Secure lid — will jump. Pairs reproduce in the burrow.
