Neocaridina davidi
Origin: Taiwan (captive-bred)
The Black Rose Shrimp is a dark near-black colour morph of Neocaridina davidi, exhibiting rich black to deep charcoal colouration. Higher-grade individuals show nearly opaque black with a subtle iridescent sheen. Thrives alongside other peaceful shrimp and is tolerant of a wide range of water parameters.
Care is identical to standard Cherry Shrimp: neutral slightly soft water, well-planted tank, group of 10+. Feed algae wafers, biofilm, and blanched vegetables. Avoid copper medications. Stable water parameters maintain best black colouration — fluctuations can cause colour fading. Breeds prolifically when settled.
